General Fundraising:

Band-Aides, West and Shawnee Mission West Band have a number of fundraisers throughout the year to raise money to provide many educational and administrative items to our band students and staff.

Our general fundraisers are:

The Spaghetti Dinner will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2011. In addition to a catered spaghetti dinner and home-made desserts, the event features a silent auction and performances by the jazz bands.

The Chili Supper will take place on Saturday, March 3, 2012. This supper includes homemade chili and chili dogs. The concert bands, jazz bands and percussion ensemble perform throughout the evening.

More details about these events and others will be posted as they become available.

Fundraising activities planned specifically for the London Trip include:

Band Bucks Gift Cards – "scrip" fundraising program that works while you shop.  The website is http://www.shopwithscrip.com and the band code is A45D925D25646. Get the details here. Hen House – HyVee – Price Chopper Coupon Books – Books sell for $5.00 each. $4.00 will go in your student’s account for each HyVee and Hen House  book purchased.  The Price Chopper coupon books now put $5 directly into your account.   Specifics here. (pdf)  Save

Trash bags (big yellow and white kitchen bags) The bags sell for $10 a roll. Cost is just under $7, so $3 per roll goes into your account. Additional information here. (pdf)

Have you thought of asking family, friends and business acquaintances for donations?   One of our students raised over $1,600 this summer by just mailing 30 letters asking for donations from family, friends and business acquaintances like dentists and doctors.  You can use this sample letter as a starting point for your letters.

Dining out – we will feature a different restaurant each month.  Our next dining out is April 11th, from 3 – 8 p.m at Mr. Goodcents at 91st & Metcalf.

Where possible, the money that you generate from the fundraising activities will be deposited directly to the student's account. For group activities, like Dining Out, the funds raised will be split evenly among all students. Remember that parents need to sign a fundraising policy form (below) before any money can be credited to a student's account.
