Just a quick additional note (eighth note :-))
I just finished computing and taking care of grades. SEVERAL students have D's or F's. Grading data has not been entered until today due again to lack of a computer. But with grade cards coming out and having the early dismissal, I entered everything today.
IF your son or daughter has ANYTHING besides an A it is because they have not passed their music from memory for a director or section leader.
IT IS NOT TOO LATE to bring up the grades! Anything played by memory after the due dates is still good for 80% credit. From now until October 17 anything can still be played for credit. Also when we have performances to balance with the playing tests that will change the overall totals.
With that being said, take a look at Parent Connect or ask your student how they have done on their memory work. They know and can tell you. It is either passed or not passed. There is no gray area.
Freshmen are only responsible for Star Spangled Banner and Alma Mater at this point. Everyone else should have all of pregame (Star Spangled Banner, Alma Mater, Stand Up and Cheer, Fight Song) and the John Williams Opener.
See you tonight!
